Integrating Multiple Machines
An automated rotary mold designed to overmold small brushes is integrated with the brush unit to deliver a completed product without expensive operator intervention. The Brush Feeding Unit loads the shuttles with brushes to a precise depth. The shuttles are rotated into position and loaded into the rotary mold. Handles are molded on the metal shank of the brush and those completed parts are removed by the overhead robot. The empty shuttle is withdrawn, checked for any missed brushes and then returned for reloading. This system involved the integration of two separate machines to achieve smooth and accurate output.
