Integration of three (3) of the most sophisticated technologies allows this custom keyed lock set assembly and packaging system to create well documented lock sets for use in the manufacture of large trucks. Each pallet carrier is programmed with the proper RFID number that, when it reaches the loading station, tells the assembly system what lock bodies to use, how to assemble the tumblers to match the keys selected, inspects each lock for accuracy, and where in the carrier to place the finished lock. Vision control tells the robot how to pick up the lock body so that the springs and tumblers can be inserted and then inspects the result for proper assembly. This 5 lock set, is delivered to the packaging station where the proper serial numbers and identification numbers are pre-printed on the package…eliminating errors at every stage of this process.
